About Richard deGorter - Longtime Developer
An experienced real estate developer and currently a Managing Member of Biofuels Development Partners LLC, Richard deGorter has established himself as a real estate leader in the mid-Atlantic region. After graduating from Hobart College with a bachelor of science in biology, he went on to enroll in the inaugural graduate program at the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. Richard deGorter spent the early years of his career as a vice president with the Cathedral Corporation, where he converted some of the largest rental properties in the Washington, D.C., area to condominium ownership. Today, Richard deGorter is a manager with Crescent Development Partners LLC in Aldie, Virginia, where he plays an integral role in all aspects of the real development process.
In addition to his for-profit activities, Richard deGorter is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Linked Economic Development and Affordable Housing Foundation, Inc. (LEDAHF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to relieving the burdens of government by furthering economic development, the availability of affordable housing, and environmental sustainability. LEDAHF supports other nonprofit groups such as the Good Shepherd Alliance and the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter.
